Poway Unified New Student Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year begins on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 8:00AM. Please forward this information to families new to the area or our school district. This enrollment period includes new students who will be enrolling in Preschool through High School.
New Student Enrollment for PUSD is an online process. Packets are completed digitally using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. If you do not have access to a device/internet, please contact your assigned school of residence to schedule an appointment for assistance completing the enrollment packet.
The 2026-2027 school year is scheduled to begin for all students on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. For more information about our schools and programs, visit the PUSD website.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Lottery Information
If a school reaches near capacity for TK or Kindergarten, a lottery may be needed to determine student placement. To be included in the lottery (if required), families must submit their new student enrollment packets between February 2, 2026, and February 13, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. Only students who enroll during this period will be eligible. If a lottery is necessary at our school, families will be notified. The district conducts the lottery for each site.
2026-2027 Transfer Information
The Poway Unified transfer window opens on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 8 a.m. If you live within the Poway Unified boundaries and want your child to attend a school different than your assigned school, submit your Intradistrict Transfer (IDT) request online through the Transfers page on the PUSD website. (This includes siblings of current students.) Please make sure to still enroll your child at their assigned school of residence when new student enrollment opens on Monday, February 2, 2026. Transfer requests can only be processed once your child is enrolled in their school of residence. The Intradistrict Transfer request window will close on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
