Hello Del Sur Elementary Families,
I hope you are enjoying your summer break. We are excited to welcome our returning Explorers and our new Explorers to Del Sur Elementary School, Home of the Explorers. I wanted to provide some information with you as you are anticipating our first day of school together on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Important Dates for August:
8/16 New Student Orientation 11:00am in our MPR (This is only for brand new families to Del Sur Elementary in grades 1st through 5th, Families will meet the admin team.)
8/19 TK and K BTSN 5:30pm (Parents will receive an email from their new TK or K teacher on Friday, August 16 after 4:00pm so you know which classroom to attend for the Back to School Night event. This event is only for parents/guardians to hear a presentation from their child’s classroom teacher.)
8/20 TK and K Meet and Greet 11:00am (This is when your TK or K child will get to see their classroom and meet their teacher. All TK and K families will go to their child’s classroom.)
8/20 Grade 1 Meet and Greet 12:00pm (This event is for 1st grade Explorers to see their classroom and meet their 1st grade teacher.)
8/22 BTSN Grades 3-5 5:30 and Grades 1-2 6:20pm (This event is only for parents/guardians to see their child’s classroom and listen to a presentation by the classroom teacher. Each presentation is about 45 minutes.)
8/23 Back to School Picnic 5:30pm (This fun welcome back to school event is sponsored by our Foundation and is for the whole family. The event is located on our blacktop area. More details will be sent out during the week of August 19.)
8/28 Elem. VAPA Day 1 (Our Elem. VAPA Days are when certificated teachers come to the school site and provide VAPA lessons for each grade level to release classroom teachers to have grade level collaboration time to plan for instructional and operational needs. This used to be our X-Ploration Days. Here are the scheduled days for this school year: (8/28, 9/17, 10/8, 10/29, 12/3, 1/14, 1/28, 2/4, 2/25, 3/11, 4/1, 5/7, 5/20, 6/3)
